Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) and AECOM have reached a memorandum of understanding (MOU), under which the former will gain access to AECOM’s infrastructure services for its hybrid aircraft.
According to the agreement, AECOM will be responsible for offering end-to-end infrastructure partner services to support the operation of the aircraft, called Airlander 10.
The work scope also includes advice on hydrogen supply infrastructure and transit interchange design.
AECOM Europe and India CEO Colin Wood said: “We are excited to work with Hybrid Air Vehicles to develop infrastructure, which will enable the transition to net-zero aviation.
“Through our Sustainable Legacies strategy, AECOM is committed to ambitious environmental, social and governance targets. In practice, this means advising and enabling our clients to realise and implement innovative technology, which will cut carbon emissions.”
Expected to commence operations in 2026, Airlander 10 is claimed to result in 90% lesser emissions compared with other aircraft. It will operate completely on hydrogen by 2030 with fuel cell technology.
