The opening of a Melbourne office reinforces Frequentis’ presence in Australia as the subsidiary celebrates 15 years of operations.

Frequentis Australasia delivers safety-critical solutions for many customers in the region, and the latest office in Melbourne reinforces the company’s position. The office also includes the regional remote tower centre of excellence providing the local expertise for remote tower projects in the Australasian region.

Frequentis Australasia is currently supplying its end-to-end Internet Protocol (IP) Voice Communications System (VCS) and Airfield Management systems (AFM) for the Australian OneSKY project and at the end of 2018 successfully transitioned the voice communications systems in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney together with Airservices Australia and Thales, with Brisbane set to follow suit in early 2019.

In addition, the Frequentis Australasia team has recently been selected to provide Airways New Zealand with a remote tower solution, further confirming their commitment to regional activities.

“Not only are we celebrating a successful 15 years of Frequentis Australasia, but we are also able to reinforce our achievements and demonstrate our investment into the region, our partners and our customers by launching this additional office in Melbourne. The office will also allow us to further extend local skills, with a focus on developing STEM capabilities in the region, and enabling future growth and know-how transfer to Australia,” says Martin Rampl managing director at Frequentis Australasia.

Frequentis, with its headquarters in Vienna, Austria, launched its Australian subsidiary 15 years ago to provide in-country support for products, be closer to customers in the region, and obtain a better understanding of the market requirements.

Its headquarters was strategically positioned in Brisbane to support major projects and key air traffic control and defence customers. The new Melbourne office strengthens these initial drivers, while providing the possibility for further cooperation with the Thales OneSKY team and other complex projects like remote tower in the region. It also includes a demo facility to allow customers to experience Frequentis’ market-leading expertise in technologies such as Remote Virtual Towers.

Further Frequentis offices are located in Sydney and Perth to support Australasian Public Transport customers.

Frequentis will be exhibiting at Avalon Airshow in Melbourne from 26-28 February 2019, at stand 2A14.
