At the invitation of the Peruvian Ministry of Interior, ARINC Incorporated served as the key industry expert on border security at the 1st Annual International Congress on Border Security Solutions and Experiences to Combat Transnational Crime, held 24-25 May in Lima, Peru. The discussion was chaired by Peruvian minister of the interior Daniel Lozada Casapía and director of intelligence Eduardo Arbulu Gonzalez.
The Peruvian government is evaluating advance passenger information (API) and passenger name record (PNR) systems to enhance immigration control in an effort to establish more secure borders for its citizens and foreign visitors. As the global leader in border security solutions, ARINC was invited to share its best practices and highlight how other governments and the transportation sector have improved their border security processes by working with ARINC.
"Border security concerns are a worldwide problem and Peru is taking positive steps to protect its infrastructure. We are grateful for the opportunity to offer our expertise in solutions that will help increase Peruvian national security," said Yun Chong, vice president of global networks and IT solutions for ARINC. "We look forward to working closely with the Peruvian government as they seek to implement a border security system."
Jorge Ramirez, ARINC marketing director, presented a comprehensive overview of ARINC’s API and PNR solutions to Peruvian ministry officials, local and foreign representatives of the air transport industry, and representatives from IATA, Interpol, ICAO, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
ARINC’s API and PNR programmes are part of the company’s Electronic Borders programme.
