TAT Technologies, based in Netanya near Tel Aviv, has signed a multi-million dollar contract to repair the cooling systems of Boeing 747 jets for a “major European cargo carrier”.

The deal was signed via TAT’s subsidiary TAT Limco, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, US. The company used to be called the Long Island Metal Company and was based in New York. It acquired and merged with an Oklahoma-based company called Airepair in the 1990s and became TAT Limco in 2019.

The company is a leader in original equipment manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations under both Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (Easa) rules.

CEO and president Igal Zamir pointed to the dual certification as the reason behind the $7.5m contract win: “We won this contract due to our unique capabilities to serve this component under FAA and Easa certification.

“This unique component capability is one of approximately 300 different heat exchange, precoolers, condensers and thermal components for which we provide MRO services to airlines around the world.

“This contract will start generating revenues and profits in Q3 2023 and for the coming years. It represents another demonstration of how we execute our strategy to focus on large MRO contracts with long-term customers.”
