Belgrade Airport has opened part of the newly built central section of the terminal which will be connected to other terminal facilities as part of VINCI Airports’ €732m modernisation and expansion project.
The new area is expected to improve the processing of the passenger and its experience with regards to size and comfort.
The main upgrades to the flow management are the new check-in counters 100 and 200 (201-212) which are now located on the ground floor of the newly built central section. In addition, security and passport control are now on the first floor.
At the moment, passengers will check-in on the ground floor of the existing terminal at the counters (200-600) or in the newly built section (100 and 200). They then proceed to the first floor of the new central part for passport checks and then security control.
This is considered an innovative approach in passenger movement technology.
The section has been designed in VINCI Airports standards with regards to materials, colour palettes, signage and information system and furniture. A glass façade is used for the airport name and has been decorated with traditional ornaments of the Pirot rug.
