Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has expanded its tie-up with China Eastern Airlines with a new three-year agreement to manage Boeing 777 cargo-only flights in Liege, Belgium.
The partnership extension will see WFS handling around 32,000tpa of cargo for the airline.
This cargo will be carried onboard up to nine B777 flights per week into Liege Airport from Yantai Penglai International Airport in Shandong Province, China.
In addition, WFS agreed to offer ramp handling for the carrier’s 777 services in addition to warehouse operations.
WFS Belgium managing director Nathan De Valck said: “Having handled charter flights for China Eastern in Liege last summer, we are delighted to have won this opportunity to support the airline’s scheduled cargo-only services to and from Yantai.
“Liege is a very important and growing cargo hub for WFS in Europe, so it is especially pleasing to welcome another long-term WFS partner as a customer at the airport. We see this as a sign of China Eastern’s trust in WFS and our high reputation for handling freighters and cargo-only services.

Additionally, WFS is facilitating China Eastern Airlines’ cargo operations at other airport gateways such as New York JFK, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Frankfurt, and Stockholm.
Last month, WFS received a contract from Zongteng Group to manage its freighter flights at France’s CDG airport.
