Vinci Airports has announced that the majority of its French airports have obtained higher levels of Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA).
ACA is a global standard that assesses the airport’s decarbonisation and contribution towards the global ‘Net Zero Carbon Emission’ path for the aviation sector.
Vinci noted that Level 3 accreditation has been obtained by its Nantes Atlantique (NTE), Saint-Nazaire (SNR), Rennes Bretagne (RNS), Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne (CFE), Grenoble Alpes Isère (GNB), Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc (CMF), and Toulon Hyères (TLN) airports.
Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS) in France has been awarded ACA level 4+ accreditation, which is said to be the highest level in the programme.
The airport operator said that the accreditations obtained underline the transformation across its network towards ‘Net Zero Carbon Emissions’.
It has also set a target of achieving this at its Toulon-Hyères airport by 2023 and by 2026 at Lyon airport.
