The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is set to construct a new airport terminal building at Imphal International Airport (IMF) in the Indian state of Manipur.
Entailing an investment of around $60m (Rs5bn), the new integrated terminal building will incorporate modern features will be built at the airport.
The technical block cum air traffic control tower, as well as the apron-linked taxiway and associated city works, will be carried out under the project.
Contract related to works of the project has already been awarded. The project is anticipated to be concluded in two years.
This new terminal building will be constructed in an area of 22,000m².
It can accommodate around 800 passengers during peak-hour flight operations.

With a 40m height, the ATC control tower cum technical block will feature a ground floor plus six floors.
The service building will be constructed in an area of 2152m², while an apron and taxiways will be built with eight stands for Code –C type aircrafts such as Airbus A 320 and Boeing 737.
With an investment of $1.9m (Rs160m), the cargo complex is under construction at Imphal Airport.
More than 69% of the works have been concluded at the complex, which is anticipated to be operational by the end of March next year.
