Understand the impact of the Ukraine conflict from a cross-sector perspective with the Global Data Executive Briefing: Ukraine Conflict
Flag carrier SriLankan Airlines has paused all flights operating between Sri Lanka and Moscow, Russia, due to operational constraints beyond its control.
Citing a force majeure situation, the carrier ceased its operations to Moscow from 28 March until further notice.
“The restrictions are in the form of international financial and aircraft insurance limits which have been imposed on Russia due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, and directly impact SriLankan Airlines’ flight operations to Russia,” the airline company said.
The decision comes amid the ongoing military attack on Ukraine by Russia.
SriLankan Airlines said that it will continue to monitor the crisis and resume service once conditions are better.
