Denver International Airport (DEN) in the US has selected AECOM to offer programme management services for developing its seventh runway.
Under this contract, the infrastructure consulting firm will be responsible for managing preliminary design works and coordinating environmental assessment work.
Aecom US West region CEO Travis Boone said: “As air traffic levels continue to increase, the addition of a future runway at DEN is a crucial realisation of the airport’s original master plan and vital to the overall National Airspace System.
“We’re incredibly proud to support DEN as it embarks on this exciting expansion to its airfield. Our robust relationships with Denver’s small business community, city departments, regulatory agencies and airline stakeholders will allow us to place a strong emphasis on collaboration and partnership, helping us realise an expedient and effective delivery of this program.”
Aecom also agreed to provide support services such as construction procurement through coordination, document preparation, as well as alternate delivery analysis. These services also include connecting and informing local businesses and community stakeholders as part of public outreach activities.
Besides, it has agreed to support sustainability efforts including integration with Envision and LEED framework along with programme controls to manage scope, schedule, risk, budget.
