VINCI Airports has opened a new freight terminal at Las Américas Airport in the Dominican Republic.
The new terminal, built by VINCI Construction Grands Projects, is expected to support Dominican exports and help in creating a commercial hub.
The new 6,800m² warehouse also centralises freight movement operations by bringing together all associated organisations under the same building.
In addition, the site features a commercial building with banking services, offices, counters for customs officers, administrative facilities and restaurants.
The terminal is designed to be an environmentally friendly facility that will recycle and reuse all its waste and optimise energy and water consumption. The site will be powered by the photovoltaic panels that VINCI Airports installed last year.
VINCI Airports chairman and VINCI Concessions CEO Nicolas Notebaert said: “Rapid and reliable aviation capabilities are critical for export-led economies. VINCI Airports is proud to continue its partnership with the Dominican Republic with this new freight terminal serving the capital.
