Dubai Airports has partnered with its aviation and commercial partners to provide relief measures and has also planned to gradually restart operations after the restrictions are lifted.
Using a business stabilisation framework, Dubai Airports has provided an assistance programme to the aviation partners, tenants and concessionaires.
As per the relief measures, which are applicable from 1 March to 31 May, Dubai Airports has waived 100% of minimum guarantees or equivalent fees for those partners who had to stop trading.
All partners whose operations were partially kept open will receive other measures to tackle reduced activity, such as rescheduling and other financial adjustments.
Dubai Airports executive vice-president Eugene Barry said: “Flexibility is more important now than ever. Of paramount importance is that we protect and retain our aviation and business partnerships, which have been carefully built over a number of years, and ensure that our revenue and service drivers will be in a position to remobilise, in line with approvals from federal authorities.
“We have taken a number of unprecedented measures to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 to our own business, as well as those of our partners.

Passenger operations at Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central were suspended from 24 March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, cargo operations, which are operational, have seen an increase in activity as there is a higher demand for essential goods such as food and pharmaceuticals.
Emirates SkyCargo and flydubai are amongst the 12 airlines that received permission to operate around 110 flights weekly for cargo operations.
