Spanish airport operator Aena has contracted ThyssenKrupp Elevator to install and maintain passenger boarding bridges (PBBs) and moving walks in three airports.
This new infrastructure will be fitted at Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport, Palma de Mallorca Airport and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
The urban mobility provider will deploy and maintain 42 new PBBs at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.
A total of 122 existing PBBs will undergo maintenance while an additional ten will be renovated.
There will be 22 moving walks deployed at Palma de Mallorca Airport, with two of them measuring more than 95m in length.
thyssenkrupp Elevator will install 34 glass PBBs at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, which will add to the 43 PBBs installed in 2008.

The company won a contract in June to supply the elevators and escalators for Beijing Daxing Airport, China.
In May, they won a contract to manage and maintain 90 PBBs at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
