ADB Safegate has signed an agreement to acquire UK-based airport IT systems and data analytics solutions provider Ultra Airport Systems (AS) for around $22m.
Set to strengthen ADB Safegate’s expertise, the deal will speed-up its transformation into a total airport management (TAM) solution provider.
Furthermore, the acquisition will boost ADB Safegate airport systems and data analytics capabilities and enable airports to deploy emerging digital technologies for enhanced operational efficiency.
The company will use Ultra AS’s technologies and further develop solutions related to operational performance, flight information displays, billing, baggage management, and situational awareness.
ADB Safegate will also leverage Ultra AS’s software and services sales skills to sell its airport performance capabilities to new customers.
ADB Safegate CEO Christian Onselaere said: “As well as combining Ultra AS’s airport systems expertise and experience with ADB Safegate’s airport performance approach, we have set up a dedicated new TAM business unit to develop advanced analytics solutions. We have a real opportunity to become a leader in this exciting field.”
