The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) in the Philippines, in collaboration with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), has started the bidding process for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Clark International Airport (CIA).
An invitation to bid was published on 30 April, after securing approval from the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board for the PHP5.61bn ($108.31m) Clark International Airport expansion project and O&M public-private partnership (PPP) concession.
BCDA noted that a primer/information memorandum comprising the general information about the project will be made available on its website starting 7 May.
BCDA president and CEO Vivencio Dizon said that the contract may be awarded by August this year.
Once the contract is awarded, the O&M Concessionaire will assume the management and operations of the existing passenger terminal, and the new terminal building after its completion and successful commissioning.
Dizon added: “The new terminal is going to open in the first half of 2020. It’s on track. We have no indications of delay. It’s moving full speed ahead and I think we can even gain more momentum as we move towards the next phases of construction.”
