SITA has launched a web-based version of the messaging platform Sitatex Online, an easy-to-use and cost-effective mail service designed especially for air transport industry professionals.

The new community service facilitates the exchange of over 800 million industry-standard operational messages every year to more than 20,000 recipients across the air transport industry, and complements SITA’s existing Sitatex service.
Sitatex Online, which is a system-independent operation, is provided as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model under SITA’s cloud strategy to make the solution simple and cost effective to implement and operate.
The new service is fully developed in XML using IATA type standards, and offers connectivity to Type X, Type B, SMTP, X400 and FAX through Sita’s messaging gateways.
SITA vice-president communications and infrastructure Assane Oueddo said Sitatex Online is the company’s response to the changing operational mail services needs of the industry’s professionals, and is one of the key milestones in its new generation messaging transformation.

Available in the form of single-user licences for small organisations, the service also provides enterprise licences for larger and multi-site organisations with the ability to easily administer and seamlessly roll out an operational mail service to multiple users.
Sitatex Online runs on PC, Mac or Linux platforms, and works with leading web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome.
The new service enables the exchange of all messages between users on the enterprise licence transmitted for free, and does not require any onsite support.
