Japan-based drone technology services provider Autonomous Control Systems Laboratory has raised JPY2.1bn ($18.56m) in a venture financing round.

The participants in the financing round included Mirai Creation Fund, iGlobe Partners, Mizuho Capital Partners, The Commercial Drone Fund, and The University of Tokyo Edge Capital (UTEC).

“Galaxy 30 will be initially launched on Ariane 5 launch vehicle, followed by the launch of the Galaxy 3 by 2020.”

The raised funds will be used to bolster business and increase growth prospects by employing advanced technologies.

Intelsat has reached an agreement with Arianespace to provide launch vehicles for the launch of two satellites. The satellites are expected to take off by 2020.

Arianespace will launch the Galaxy 30 and Galaxy 3 satellites under the agreement.

Galaxy 30 will be initially launched on Ariane 5 launch vehicle, followed by the launch of the Galaxy 3 by 2020.

Turkish Airlines has ordered three twin-engine 777 Freighter aircraft from Boeing.

The transaction terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

The aircraft are expected to improve the global connectivity of Turkish Airlines and reduce operational costs, cargo handling charges and time required for delivery.

Deliveries are scheduled to start this year.

Intelsat has awarded a contract to Orbital ATK for manufacturing a Mission Extension Vehicle (MEV-2). Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Orbital ATK will be responsible for the development, testing and launch of the vehicle, as well as the mission extension services.

The vehicle is intended to offer life extension services for Intelsat’s satellites.
