The first Australian-designed and manufactured aircraft, the GA8-TC Airvan, has successfully completed its mission to fly around the globe.
Taking off from Bendigo in the State of Victoria, Australia, on 8 May 2010, the plane covered 27,675nm before returning on 8 July 2010.
The flight raised funds for the Millions Against Malaria campaign.
Australian pilot for the GA8-TC Ken Evers said that the success of the mission was in large part due to the Airvan, which proved to be the ideal choice for such a mission.
The GA8-TC Airvan was developed by Gippsland Aeronautics and is owned the Mahindra Group.
