Bombardier is to deliver four Q400 NextGen turboprop airliners to Porter Airlines of Toronto, which has also taken options on an additional six Q400 NextGen aircraft.
The four aircraft will bring the Porter’s fleet of Q400 and Q400 NextGen aircraft to 24.
The order is valued at $120m for the four aircraft, which would increase to $308m if the airline exercises the six options.
Optimised for short-haul operations, the 70 to 80-seat Q400 NextGen aircraft is a large, quiet and fuel-efficient turboprop that can travel at 360kt over a distance of up to 1,362nm.
