In collaboration with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), DGCTA contracted the Austrian company to provide the latest ATM systems, which use IP technology to enable end-to-end voice communication and recording.

DGCTA general director Brigadier José Palermo said: "We are already used to the highest availability of Frequentis systems in combination with very reliable project implementation and therefore trust Frequentis for its next-generation ATM solutions.

"This will enable us to fulfil the national migration from digital to IP technology."

Four area control centres in Argentina, Ezeiza, Cordoba, Comodoro Rivadavia and Mendoza will use end-to-end voice communication systems to support an ATM-grade network solution.

The system will also assist the centres to attain the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) standard, ED 137.
