French software firm Dassault Systèmes has unveiled a new 3D visualisation solution to design and personalise aircraft cabins.
Named Passenger Experience, the new solution will help aerospace and defence manufacturers automate cabin completion processes, as well as cabin buying and marketing activities.
The solution is built on Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and features 3D visualisation technology and interactive content to transform engineering data into visual 3D design, marketing and sales applications.
Applications designed using the new platform will meet all cabin design aspects, including customer interaction, design validation, verification and marketing campaigns, Dassault said.
Dassault Systèmes aerospace and defence industry vice-president Michel Tellier said: "Allowing aircraft customers to experience their choices as they make them, to appreciate the beauty, effect, practicality, feasibility, cost and benefit in real-time as they make these choices, is a key goal for ‘Passenger Experience’.
"There is a competitive advantage in bringing maximum harmony between the interior while it is being specified and what will be delivered, and ultimately marketed, to the private or commercial passenger."
