UK-based GKN Aerospace has won long-term agreements (LTA) from Boeing Commercial Airplanes to provide titanium and aluminium machined parts and subassemblies for 767, 777, and 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The deal also includes new work packages for Boeing 777X.

As part of the deal, titanium wing fittings, the horizontal stabiliser spars and jack screw assembly for 787 family, and the drag struts for the 777 and 777X family will be provided.

Production of the parts under the deal will be carried out at GKN Aerospace’s two US advanced machined structures (AMS) facilities in Amityville, New York, and St. Louis, Missouri, US.

The company has been producing titanium and aluminium machined parts and subassemblies for more than ten years.

In July, GKN Aerospace agreed to extend a risk and revenue sharing partnership (RRSP) with Rolls-Royce for the latter’s Trent XWB-84 engine, which has been used to power aircraft.

Under the deal, the value of which was not disclosed, GKN Aerospace will design and supply a lower weight, higher performance intermediate compressor case (ICC) to improve performance of Trent XWB-84 engine.
