Dutch aircraft leasing company AerCap Holdings has announced the delivery of the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner to Air France.
The airplane is scheduled to get deployed on Air France’s Paris to Cairo route from next January.
Air France will receive this 787-9 aircraft on a long-term lease from AerCap’s order book with Boeing.
AerCap CEO Aengus Kelly said: “We are delighted to be a part of this significant milestone for both Air France and Boeing.
“AerCap is the world’s largest lessor of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with over 80 aircraft owned and on order. We wish our friends and partners at Boeing and Air France continued success.”
Air France-KLM CEO Jean-Marc Janaillac stated: “It is with great pride and honor that Air France is taking delivery of its first Boeing 787, the 9th for Air France-KLM.

The Air France-KLM Group’s order comprises 18 787-9s and seven 787-10s.
A further 12 787-9s are also ordered, which will be leased through leased through AerCap.
The arrival of the first airplane at Paris is a part of Air France’s effort to renew its long-haul fleet.
The design of 787-9 is based on its predecessor 787-8. The airliner offers various features that include large windows, large overhead bins, modern LED lighting, and greater comfort with latest technology to provide a smoother ride for passengers.
