Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is expanding its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services network in the US with the opening of a new facility in Fort Worth, Texas.

Spanning two hangars at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport, the new centre will support Embraer’s aim to increase its capacity to service E-Jets used in the US market.

Carlos Naufel, CEO of Embraer Services and Support, said: “This expansion will significantly increase the capacity, capability, and footprint of our services network by providing world-class support to our customers and the growing fleet of E-Jets in North America.”

Initial work on the new centre will begin with the outfitting of an existing hangar at the airport, in partnership with the local governments of Fort Worth, Centon County, and Texas State, ahead of operations launching in Q1 2025.

The centre will also include a newly constructed hangar being built by Embraer for additional operations, currently scheduled to open in 2027 following local government approval of certain incentives proposed to the manufacturer.

Once open, the MRO centre will join Embraer’s network of service facilities across the globe, including 80 authorised third-party centres and 12 owned centres, and boost the company’s presence in North America as part of its US growth strategy.
