Global technology company SITA has been selected by the Amazon Airport Concessionaire, which operates seven airports in Brazil as part of the VINCI Airports Network, to implement a digital airport management system.
The SITA Airport Management solution will be rolled out at Manaus Airport, Porto Velho Airport, Rio Branco Airport, Boa Vista Airport, Cruzeiro do Sul Airport, Tabatinga Airport, and Tefé Airport.
In addition, the Amazon Airport Concessionaire has renewed an ongoing agreement with SITA to continue providing the same service at Salvador Bahia Airport. The systems will be available to passengers from the second half of this year.
SITA Airport Management is a multi-airport digital solution that helps airport managers and airlines efficiently manage flight operations, optimise fixed and mobile resources – such as check-in counters and baggage reclaim carousels – and manage mobile resources. The solution has several additional modules that can be added to manage various additional operations at airports.
“We are very pleased to continue and expand our partnership with SITA for the use of these technologies. 2024 has been a positive year of growth, recovery and consolidation of advances in the post-pandemic scenario,” said Julio Ribas, CEO of VINCI Airports in Brazil.
“In this brand new time, more than ever, the tools offered by SITA will be of great use to us in making decisions that will continue to lead us down a path of success. It will be very exciting to start using these solutions at the airports we manage in the Brazilian Amazon area,”

By GlobalDataThe airports in question will also incorporate the SITA Operations Manager module, which stores data related to flight operations and applies business rules according to airport operational procedures; the SITA Fixed Resource Manager module, which optimises the usage of resources by airport and flight operations; and the SITA Information Display System module, which provide passengers with data on flights via customisable displays throughout the airport.
By combining these technologies, the airports will be able to consolidate operational data from all the airports under its management in Brazil, monitoring key performance indicators for terminal operations and ensuring that they meet the quality-of-service objectives for passengers.
In addition, the data can be shared with the group’s entire network, unlocking external growth for the concessionaire responsible for the Amazon airports.
“Brazilian airports are seeing an increasing demand in air traffic, which is why optimising operations is more important now than ever to ensure the industry can keep up,” said Shawn Gregor, SITA’s Americas President.
“We are excited to be expanding our partnership with VINCI Airports, which is responsible for operating more than 70 airports in 14 countries around the world.”
