DHL Express Canada has opened a new specialised cargo facility at YYC Calgary International Airport.
The airport’s new 100,000ft² building provides direct access to its dedicated cargo apron, and will allow DHL to position itself for future growth in Calgary.
The facility is part of YYC’s global logistics parks, which connect commercial, airside and cargo handling, freight forwarding and logistics companies across more than 330 acres of land.
The new 38,000ft² space triples the size of the company’s operations at YYC.
Air cargo transported through YYC last year increased to 134,695t, which represents more than 75% of all air cargo moved in the province.
In October, YYC opened its new international terminal for operations and moved all US and international flight operations to the new facility.
