DHL Express has signed a five-year agreement with Mytheresa for the use of its GoGreen Plus service enabling the German luxury e-commerce business to reduce CO2 emissions by using SAF-powered transport.
Mytheresa will invest “several million euros in GoGreen Plus over five years,” which DHL said represented the largest investment in this service by a DHL Express client in Europe to date.
This investment in GoGreen Plus is expected to save Mytheresa more than 27,000 tons of CO2 emissions from international shipments over the next five years.
John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express emphasised the scale of the agreement.
Pearson said: “Mytheresa is committed to working with us to make international express transportation more sustainable. I am delighted that we can offer the GoGreen Plus service by using SAF in our international network.
“This makes Mytheresa the first and largest e-commerce platform based in Germany to invest in SAF and to invest an impressive figure to make international express deliveries more sustainable. We hope this agreement will inspire others to take action and support the transition to low-emission transport services via sustainable aviation fuel.”

Three of the major SAF contracts, with BP, Neste, and World Energy, have helped to make GoGreen Plus “possible” stated DHL.
GoGreen Plus is a component of the DHL Group’s objective of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050, in addition to its air network accounting for over 90% of the company’s carbon footprint.
Sebastian Dietzmann, COO of Mytheresa “Based on this unique long-term agreement with DHL Express on the use of SAF, we will be able to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions per order shipped.”
“With this largest ever investment by a company in Europe in DHL Express’ GoGreen Plus program, Mytheresa underlines its extraordinary ESG commitment and offers its luxury customers an even more sustainable shopping experience in the future.”
This agreement follows DHL signing one of the largest SAF agreements in the world with World Energy in October 2023. The deal featured over 668 million litres of SAF via certificates.
