Menzies Aviation-Siginon Aviation has expanded its ground services licence at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) to include passenger handling.
This development follows Siginon Aviation and Menzies joining forces in 2021, allowing Menzies to enter the Kenyan market and provide cargo-handling services at NBO and Eldoret International Airport (EDL).
The licence, set to run until 2030, features ramp, passenger and baggage services, including VIP charter flight handling.
Menzies Aviation MEAA EVP Charles Wyley highlights how the new licence provisions will strengthen Menzies’s capabilities across the region.
Wyley said: “We are excited to enter a new phase in our operations in Kenya. The move to offer ground services represents a significant milestone for our team as it strengthens our capabilities in the region. This expansion also marks a significant development for the local community as it will generate new career opportunities, as well as provide training.
“We look forward to supporting new and existing airline customers at NBO, leveraging our extensive experience and expertise to contribute to Africa’s growing aviation ecosystem.”
